  1. Why should I become certified as a CLNC®?
Your CLNC® Certification is evidence that you have mastered a complex body of specialized knowledge. More importantly, the trademark CLNC® Certification will give you a competitive edge over other consultants and help you build a profitable practice more quickly.

  2. How long is my initial CLNC® Certification valid?
The initial CLNC® Certification is valid for two years.

  3. How is the CLNC® Certification different from other programs?
The CLNC® Certification is the only certification that requires an extensive course of study in legal nurse consulting as an eligibility requirement. The combination of legal nurse consulting education, your nursing knowledge and experience, and the CLNC® Certification will give you the competitive edge when marketing to attorneys and insurance companies. In addition, as long as you remain certified, you will receive personalized coaching and mentoring from successful Certified Legal Nurse Consultants through the Vickie Milazzo Institute's CLNC® Mentoring Program.

  4. Do I need to use the ® after my CLNC credential once I become certified?
No, the ® after the CLNC credential throughout our literature and this website indicates that the CLNC credential is a registered certification mark belonging to the Institute. You will simply use the CLNC credential after your name, as in Judy Smith, RN, CLNC.

  5. Can I afford to invest in CLNC® Certification? — Can I afford not to?
The CLNC® Certification is economical. Vickie has never forgotten her roots in nursing and is committed to making this opportunity affordable to any nurse interested in liberation from burn-out and frustration. The CLNC® Certification Program is the closest you can come to hiring Vickie to coach and mentor you to success, as a CLNC® — a consultation that, at her going rate of $300/hour, would cost you more than $27,000. Yet the entire CLNC® Certification Program costs just a fraction of that amount.

  6. What will I lose if I don't invest in your program?

You'll lose thousands of dollars in potential income.
The typical Certified Legal Nurse Consultant has an earning potential of $100.00-150.00/hour.

You'll also miss out on the satisfaction and freedom of building your own practice as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.

The CLNC®Certification Program is so affordable, you can earn more than it costs on your first two assignments, assignments that you'll win easily once you tell prospective clients about your qualifications as a CLNC®.

  7. Are test questions available for review?
Vickie Milazzo Institute does not make test questions available for review. Because test questions can be used for more than one exam administration, distributing such materials would compromise the security of the items and the fairness of the exam.

  8. Who will see my test scores?
Test scores will be released only to the candidate. For the computer-based exam, test results will be available on the computer screen at the completion of the exam. For the exam administered at the CLNC® 6-Day Certification Seminar, you will be notified within six weeks.

  9. Who may learn about my certification status?
Vickie Milazzo Institute will release your certification status to a third party but will not provide any details, such as test scores, unless you give permission in writing.

  10. What if I need to retake the exam?
If you do not receive a passing score on the exam, you may retake the exam. There is no waiting period for retesting, but Vickie Milazzo Institute recommends that you allow enough time to study and prepare again. Different forms of the examination will be given.

Unsuccessful candidates who wish to be retested must reapply to Vickie Milazzo Institute, resubmit all applicable fees and documentation and reestablish eligibility. Unsuccessful candidates may submit a copy of their "fail letter" in lieu of resubmitting the documentation forms, however, they must submit a new application form.

There is no limit to the number of times you may retake the exam.

If you are taking the exam to renew your certification, please keep in mind that you must successfully complete the exam prior to the expiration date printed on your certification card to avoid any lapse in your certification.

  11. Can I appeal these policies?
Any request to waive any policy of Vickie Milazzo Institute relative to eligibility or administrative issues must be received in writing within 60 days of the appeal. The correspondence should contain a detailed account of why the policy should be waived. All decisions will be provided in writing. FAILURE OF THE EXAMINATION IS NOT APPEALABLE.

  12. Can I be dismissed from the examination?
You will be dismissed from the test administration or have certification withheld for any of the following reasons:

Failing to present photo and signature identification or active RN license

arrow_pink.gif (156 bytes) Using unauthorized aids during the exam

If you are dismissed for any of the above, you forfeit any testing fees.
