The Computer-Based CLNC® Certification Exam for the Home-Study Program
Advantages of Taking the Computerized CLNC® Certification Exam

Computer-based testing (CBT) allows you to schedule the CLNC® Examination quickly and conveniently at any one of approximately 350 Prometric Testing Centers (formerly Sylvan Technology Centers). Most centers are open 6 days a week year round.

Each Certified Legal Nurse Consultant candidate takes the exam by individual appointment at a Prometric Testing Center or Sylvan Technology Center. After you receive an eligibility letter from the Institute, you can schedule your exam by calling toll free 866.496.9749 and specifying when and where you will take the exam.

The testing environment for CBT is professional, secure and standardized. Private modular testing booths provide individual work space, comfortable seating, proper lighting and ventilation. You can concentrate without distractions.

Prior computer experience is not necessary as you will use only a few keystrokes. Once seated, you will be offered the option to take a CBT tutorial before the CLNC® Exam.

Answering questions on computer is easier than on paper. There are no bubbles to mark, and it's easy to skip and return to items.

There's no waiting to find out how you did. You receive your score immediately upon completing the CLNC® Exam.

To be admitted to the Prometric Testing Center or Sylvan Technology Center, you must bring two forms of identification: a government-issued photo ID (such as a driver's license) and a current RN license. Once you have checked in and have been verified, test-site personnel will explain the testing process after which you may choose to take the CBT tutorial. The test area is proctored by Prometric Testing Center staff who can answer administrative questions.
